The idea is simple. I love knowing things and falling down Wikipedia rabbit holes, and I wanted a place that does not just inform you but actually pulls you in. So instead of waiting for it to exist, we started building it.

This part started as a place to post notes about what I was building. It has turned into something I did not quite plan: long, properly researched pieces about whatever has caught my attention. Indian dinosaurs. A wall of thorns the British grew across the country to tax salt. The painkiller that wiped out almost every vulture in South Asia.
There is no theme beyond curiosity, so do not expect one. What I can promise is that the facts are checked before they go up, the numbers come from real sources, and every photograph is credited. Where the popular version of a story turns out to be wrong, I say so in the piece rather than quietly repeating it.
